So, whether it's a bucket-list experience or you've lost a bet, you've decided to jump out of a perfectly good plane. You may have already booked the big event or are still considering it, but here are six tips from people who have done it before to help you enjoy your first skydive.
It’s okay to feel nervous
Relax and Breathe
Don’t Close your Eyes
Remember Every Step of the way
Trust your Instructor
Smile and have Fun
Hey, they're sharing their love of skydiving and assisting you in becoming a better skydiver, so if you're a skydiver or just curious about skydiving, consider subscribing so you don't miss any blogs. Let's go over the six suggestions for you now.
1. It's okay to feel nervous
For your first skydive tip, it's okay to be nervous because you've just put yourself in a situation where a little fear is totally normal and, in fact, it's a natural and healthy response from putting yourself in such a situation. That being said, you might experience a variety of fears, some of which will heighten your awareness and cause you to concentrate on the event, while others will cause you to lose focus on the event.
2. Relax and Breathe
One of the most crucial things you can do during that encounter is to do this. Remembering to breathe since, contrary to popular belief, wind speed has no influence on your breathing. If you're having difficulties breathing, it's because you're worrying and not relaxing, so make an effort to relax and breathe through your nose so that you can truly enjoy the experience.
3. Don't close your eyes
Third, don't close your eyes so you don't miss out on the view; there's nothing like seeing the world from freefall or behind a parachute, so take it all in.
4. Remember every step of the way
You're only going to do your first tandem skydive once, whether it's a one-time experience or you get hooked and decide to become a solo skydiver, you're only going to do it once, so you want to remember it well. Not only that, but you'll notice that everything happens so quickly. You have a brief stop on the ground, get ready, board the plane, and 5-10 minutes later you're jumping out of the plane for about a minute, then you have your canopy ride, and land, and by the time you land, you'll just be looking up at the sky, wondering what just happened.
So having access to the video and images will help you remember how you felt at the time, and it's also very nice to show off your recordings to your friends and family. My best suggestion is to grab the video and photos and be able to recall whatever you want to remember. Not only that, but you have a cameraman with you when in freefall, and having someone fall with you offers you a different type of experience where you can truly feel like you're flying since you can see someone in front of you doing it.
5. Trust your instructor
Trust your instructor. There are many requirements to become an attendant instructor, including years of experience in the sport, qualifications, certification, training, and test jumps. You must consider that this instructor is well trained and prepared to help you experience your first skydive, not to mention that they are a member of a team.
They will also know you have a lot of questions, so don't be afraid to ask them. They will give you the right amount of information without overloading you with details, and that person is the most important person in your life for the next 20 minutes, so you want to pay attention and do exactly what your instructor says.
6. Smile and have fun
Last but not least, smile and have fun. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and you'll join a small family of people who has pushed their limitations and overcome their fears. So be ready for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and enjoy it to the fullest.
