When you hear the words Israel Defense Forces, what comes to mind? Most people would respond that this is one of the world's most powerful armies, with men and women defending our borders against our adversaries, which is correct.

People say that not all heroes wear capes, which is true, but all heroes, like those heroes, have an incredible heart. Young men and women refused to let their exceptional needs become a barrier to their participation in society, insisting on having the same chances and successes as everyone else.

Israel's army is the only army in the world that has soldiers with special needs serving and defending the country in their own unique way. There are 500 soldiers with special needs in the IDF now, and they are not there just for show; they are fully integrated into the army, breaking down barriers and serving rather than being served. People with special needs are generally considered as weak and abused or bullied in many countries, yet in Israel, they are valued as individuals with unique abilities.

"I served in the idea for three years in the armored corpse so as you can guess i feel at home here in this military base but i was a combat medic as well" - soldier with disability

These soldiers are exactly like the ones you see today. They are Israelis who stand tall, smile, and work together, but most importantly, they are proud to have formally joined the IDF. If they can achieve their goals while also serving the idf, then no goal is too huge to reach if you have one. Dream bigger because you can achieve and accomplish far more than you imagine.
